John 10:14 I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—
Kim and I loved watching our kids play sports in High School. During a game we would cheer and shout words of encouragement and words of motivation. We knew what our daughter and son needed to hear because we knew them – we knew them on a personal level. Even though there were lots of other parents shouting and cheering their kids on, our kids heard our shouts – they recognized our voices. They knew our voices on a personal level because we were “mom and dad”.
With the shouts from the world – tv, radio, web, co-workers, friends, family, etc., it can become very hard to hear the words of encouragement and motivation from Jesus BUT it doesn’t have to be that way. We need to learn to recognize His voice and we do that by spending time in the Bible and in prayer and with Him.
Make time in your day to spend a portion of it with Jesus. Get to really know Him. Soon you will recognize His voice and will be encouraged and motivated.
