Hebrews 11:1, 6 (verse 1) Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (verse 6) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
My wife, Kim, and I, recently visited and experienced the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky. We walked through a full-size Noah’s Ark that was built to the dimensions given in the Bible. It spans 510 fee long, 85 feet wide and 51 feet tall. It is massive and impressive.
BUT… what really impressed me… was Noah.
In Genesis 6:13-14 God tells Noah He is going to destroy the earth and for Noah to build an ark out of gopher wood…AND HE DID. Think about this, Noah never experienced a flood, nor had it rained before this, but according to Hebrews 11:7 “By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.” He built an Ark and it took years upon years to do it.
Hebrews 11 tells of many other faith stories of men and women in the Bible. Powerful examples of faith. You should read it.
Despite all the “terrible news” that you see on TV or read in the newspaper or on the web or hear from your co-workers, God is in control. He’s got this. Trust Him. HAVE FAITH.
