James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
“One minute he is listening to the JoyFM and singing along, and the next minute he cussing out some contractors – and he supposed to be a Christian.” This is a conversation I overheard this past week. How sad.
If you are a Christian – a follower of Jesus, does your speech bring glory to God? What about your actions?
Ephesians 4:29 says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
Matthew 5:16 says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Be that example – live that life that brings glory to God.
