LOVE IS A VERB

Luke 10:27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.”

We learned in grade school that a verb describes action. So if “love” is an action word what actions are you taking to demonstrate love for God and for your neighbor?

Spending only one day a week (like Sunday) with someone does not demonstrate love with all of your heart, soul, strength and mind – BUT spending and dedicating daily quality time does.

In your daily quality time, take time to get to know God by reading the Bible. The Bible talks about the qualities of God, who He is, how He loves, cares and wants a relationship with us. The Bible shares stories of how He rescued, healed, delivered, and promoted His people/children and so much more.

In your daily quality time, take time to talk with God. Praying is talking with God. But instead of doing all of the talking, take time to just be quiet and listen. God will speak. Oh it probably will not be an audible voice but in your spirit/heart/”gut” you will hear words, feel impressions, see pictures or words. He does speak, you just have to choose to listen.

I just scratched the surface of how to demonstrate love towards God. But if you take a minute and recall how you demonstrate love towards your boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife, your family, you will learn of more ways that you can express love towards God.

LOVE IS A VERB – LOVE IS AN ACTION
