DOES YOUR LOVE MEASURE UP?

I Corinthians 13:4-7  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Let me ask the question in a different way. How does your love compare to the love that is describes in the verses above? Tough question isn’t it? But if you are honest, I’m sure you have a ways to go to show this type of love to your friends, co-workers, fellow believers, and….your family. I know I have a ways to go. If you ask my better half, Kim, she will tell you that I definitely have room for improvement.

This scripture describes a picture of true love. This is the love that we are to have with our friends, co-workers, fellow believers, neighbors, family members, and even our enemies. It is “Agape” love. It is love in action. It is a love that leads us to be patient and kind. It is a love that requires us to be forgiving and not keeping score.

Just imagine what our world would be like if we all practiced this type of love. IT WOULD BE AN AWESOME WORLD!!
