IT’S TIME TO GROW UP

Peter 2:1-3 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,  now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Kim and I have two kids. Raising and watching them grow up has been a real blessing. As they got older, they would ask us for advice on how to do certain things or how we would handle a situation. We did our best to share our insights and our experiences. They took our advice to heart. Today, our two kids are grown and married. They are mature, well rounded and above all love the Lord.

If you are a Christian, are you growing? Or are you still a “spiritual baby”? Many believers think that by going to church once or twice a week is all they need to do. If this is you, let me tell you that you are missing out. There is so much more. Our heavenly Dad, wants us to mature, to grow up. He has so much more for us. He gave us His Word (the bible) and His Holy Spirit where you can learn your purpose, His plans for you, how to do certain things, handle certain life-situations, plus so much more.

I want to encourage you to start desiring to grow up. Read and study our heavenly Dad’s words (the bible). Talk to Him (prayer). Listen to Him (God speaks through His Word, through circumstances, through others, etc.) . He wants the best for us and desires us to mature. Our heavenly Dad, our Lord, is good and it’s not too late to find out.
