Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
Last week I posted “What Are You Thankful For?” and it really got me thinking; “What am I truly thankful for?”
My initial answer was like many of yours; spouse, kids, family, church, God, friendships, job, love, country, etc. But as the week went on, and digger deeper, my answer changed and I boiled it down to “Grace“, after reading this verse. I’m thankful for God’s gift of GRACE.
I know that sounds “churchie” and “religious” but hear me out.
Looking back, I know that my life would have been completely different had I not accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior (God’s gift). Grace is God’s favor, His love and mercy, towards me – someone underserving. God cared enough about me to send His only Son to die on the cross for my sins. His gift of GRACE allowed me to be saved and i accepted.
I can clearly see now how God led me to Florida from Oregon. His perfect plan allowed me to meet my wife, have two kids, a career with different companies and experience wonderful friendships and SO MUCH MORE… ALL BECAUSE OF GOD’S GIFT.
So for this Thanksgiving, I’M THANKFUL FOR GOD’S GIFT.
