THE FENCE

I really like this photo.  I took it a couple of years ago when Roger and I were removing some old fencing.  When we came across this section of fencing we decided that it was too late to salvage any of the fence boards.  The tree had a firm grip on the fence boards and it would not let it go.

The tree reminded me of a scripture in the Bible that is found in John 10.  In this chapter Jesus says in verse 14, “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me–”  Then in verses 27 and 28 he goes on to say, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.  I give them eternal life and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

How cool is that?

When you accept Jesus, the good shepherd, as Lord of your life and follow him, there is nothing that can take that away.  Just like this fence.  The tree is never going to give it up.  The fence is now in the firm grasp of the tree.
