John 16:33 “I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”
Growing up my dad was very strict. When he said something or asked me to do something, he expected me to listen and to do it. There was no “wiggle room”. He meant what he said. I did listen and I did what he told me to do. Why? Because I trusted my dad and I loved him. As I grew older, our relationship changed. My dad became more of a mentor and a best friend, offering advice and guidance. His advice I could trust.
My relationship with Jesus is similar to my relationship to my dad but on a higher level. I know without a shadow of doubt that when Jesus says something he means it. In this verse, he said we will have suffering (problems, troubles, difficulties); just like my dad who would warn me about certain things. BUT Jesus goes on to say, “be courageous” (be confident), “I have conquered (overcome, defeated, won) the world.
Going through life will be tough at times. When those times come, REMEMBER, you can have PEACE through Jesus as you go through them.
BE ENCOURAGED.

Thanks so much for this I really needed this at this moment. I was laying here in bed thinking of what kind of devotional I could do and I remembered your Bible verses along SR64. I have visited your site before awhile back and what do you know a perfect verse for exactly the moment I needed it! God is good!
I am so thankful for your Bible verses along side of the road. A constant reminder for me that God is there. Thank you for listening to a calling to do this! It is a huge blessing! And thank you for this website!
Ashley, thanks for reaching out and encouraging us. God is so good and His timing is perfect.
