James 1:22-24 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
Life is busy and we tend to rush from one thing to another. Many times we have our devotions – read a verse, pray and then move on to the next thing.
Most of us rarely stop to really understand the verse. We need to accept the verse in our minds but also agree with it our hearts. We need to understand what God is showing us in His word and apply it – do what it says.
