Matthew 7:24-27 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
I’m sure you have heard the saying, “life happens”. I have seen and heard of people whose life completely fell apart when a “storm” came. And I have seen and heard of people whose life continued on when a similar “storm” shook them. One of the differences I found on how they coped with the “storm” was directly attributed to their relationship with Jesus.
Those whose life is firmly built on Jesus, their house stands. Oh, it may be battered a bit, but the structure is sound..
TobyMac, a Christian singer and songwriter, wrote a song about Jesus being his cornerstone (a cornerstone is an old construction term used to describe the first foundation stone. All other stones were set in place in reference to this stone). Listen to his story and then listen to his song.
